On 26 January 2021, a Research Report into Mother and Baby Homes and Magdalene Laundries was published.
Alongside the publication of the report, the Executive announced an independent investigation , to be co-designed in conjunction with victims and survivors .

Methodology – Informing the next stage of the inquiry or investigation
The Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) is available to provide interim emotional support to victims and survivors impacted by Mother and Baby Institutions and Magdalene Laundries in Northern Ireland.
